about

'Getting Away With It' has been 'Re-Imagined' and Remixed by Yes Plant's Tired Trace.

YP-09-RI-AB-BC-0421

To the surprise of no one, a true follow up to ‘Coming Back To It’ is stuck in the distant future. With the current UK COVID-19 restrictions, starting work on a new album has been made difficult. Yes Plant’s creator and front-man, Matthew Jameson, has been using this time to take a break from music after a really busy 2020.

Instead ‘Re-Imagined’ comes from Yes Plant’s Tired Trace. As the name suggests, ‘Re-Imagined’ is a brand-new take on the original Yes Plant EP ‘Getting Away With It’, as well as new versions of ‘What’s Going On’, ‘Dialled’ and the brand new track ‘Father (feat. Gulliver)’ in this new electropop inspired sound.

Talking about the album, Jake says “I was listening to a lot of electropop at the back end of 2020, especially the PC Music scene with the likes of Charli XCX and Caroline Polachek. I knew I wanted to do something with that sound and add a Yes Plant twist. Originally it was only going to be a remix of ‘The Police Won’t Find Me In Florida’, however I saw the chance to not only bring a new perspective, but to also further develop the story from the ‘Getting Away With It’ EP.”

“It was fun working with Gulliver again. We constantly bounce ideas off each other, and I think it has led to the creation of something truly unique with ‘Father’ – it’s a track that even I struggle to describe. Alana’s been a friend for a while, I asked her if she would be up to helping me with the opening track and she agreed. Her voice is honestly stunning, and I think it completes the track.”

‘Re-Imagined’ is a lot more than just a remix. It’s a brand-new perspective. With Tired Trace not being involved with the 2019 release, this has been his chance to tell the tragic love story. The story of ‘Getting Away With It’ is at its most complete here.
